Answer:

Explanation:as, it took 5 minutes for the signal, in (sec) = 5×60s = 300 s

Speed of the signal = 3×108m/s=324m/s

So, in 300 s =324×300m= 97200m =97.2km

Given:

During an experiment,a signal from a spaceship reached the ground station in 5minutes and the signal travels at the speed of light which is 3×10⁸m/s.

To Find:

The distance of the spaceship from the ground station.

Solution:

Speed of the signal (v) = 3×10⁸m/s

Time taken (t) = 5 minutes = 5×60 s

Distance (s) = ?

We know,

Speed = distance/ time

i.e. v = s/t

or, s = v×t

or, s = 3×10⁸m/s × 5 × 60 s

or, s = 900 × 10⁸ m

or, s = 9 × 10¹⁰ m

Thus, The Distance of the spaceship from the ground station is 10¹⁰ m.
