Let the total number of students be x

40% of x =480

(40/100)× x = 480

0.40 × x=480

x=480/0.40

x=1200

therefore total students are 1200

\underline{\underline{\bold{Question:}}}

During blood donation camp in a school 60% of total student donated blood. The number of students who did not donate blood was 480 .Find the total number of student in the school ?

\underline{\bold{Solution:}}

Let the total no. of students be x.

Given :

  • No. of students who donate the blood = 60%.
  • No. of students who don't donate the blood = (100-60) = 40%.

According to question ,

\implies{\bold{x\:of\:40\%=480}}\\\\\\\implies{\bold{x{\times}\dfrac{40}{100}=480}}\\\\\\\implies{\bold{x=480{\times}\dfrac{100}{40}=1200.}}\\\\\\\boxed{\boxed{\bold{Total\:no.\:of\;students=1200.}}}
