the presence of the gas can be determined by the experiment in its the gas is experienced in the direct contact of heat source so if that case is hydrogen then it will burn with pop sound if the gas is carbon dioxide then it will stop

The metal zinc readily reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce hydrogen gas (H2) and zincchloride (ZnCl2). Every chemicalreaction either produces or absorbs heat. In chemistry this effect is described as the reactionenthalpy. The zinc reactionproduces the heat and hence has the negative enthalpy.
