Here is it:
Combustion reaction is a reaction in which a substance majorly hydrocarbon reacts with oxygen and a large amount of heat is evolved in the form of heat and light.
In other words, we can also state that whenever a substance is burnt, combustion reaction takes place as oxygen is one of the major requirement for burning.
We can take the example of burning of methane((g) from the NCERT class 10 book only:-
(g) + 2 (g) → (g) + (g)
(This reaction can be found on Page number - 7 of NCERT science book)
This reaction is highly exothermic due to the evolution of a large amount of heat.
