SECONDARY SEXUAL CHARACTERS :

  IN  BOYS :-

  1. the size of testes increase.
  2. facial hair such as beard and mustache start to grow.
  3. shoulders broaden.
  4. muscle growth rate becomes high.
  5. hair on hands and legs grow too.
  6. the scrotum turns darker.
  7. voice cracks  and becomes deeper.
  8. testes start to make sperm cells.(spermato-genesis)              

     IN GIRLS :-        

  1. size of breasts enlarge.
  2. the pubic area turns darker.
  3. pelvis starts broadening.
  4. hair grow in pubic region.
  5. voice becomes shriller.
  6. the menstrual cycle begins.
  7. ovary start to release ovum (o-genesis)

all these are the characteristic changes which marks the onset of puberty (development).
