during lightening, we see light first and after a while, we hear sound. why?

because speed of light is more than speed of sound in per unit time.

during lightning we see light first and after a while we hear sound because light travels faster than sound and hence we see light first and hear the sound next.
The speed of light is 3×10^8metre /second in air.
The speed of sound is 340metre/second.
