During menstruation, girls feel pain in their lower abdominal region where uterus is there. This pain is caused by menstrual cramps which happens due to the contraction of muscles in uterus. If the uterus contracts too strongly, it can press against nearby blood vessels and stop the supply of oxygen to the muscle tissue of the uterus. This causes the cramps and pain in the abdominal region.
