During monsoon scale, a shop offered a discount of 10 percent on the marked price of all items . what amount was paid by a customer in order to buy a Saree marked at 1450 and two shirts marked at 850 each .

Solution:
Total price = 1450 + 1700
= 3150
discount on saree = 1450 × 10/100
= 145
discount on 1 shirt = 850 × 10/100
= 85
discount on 2 shirts = 2× 85
= 170
hence, total discount = 170 + 145
= 315
therefore , amount paid by customer = 3150 - 315 = 2835
