During Nixon's first term in office US policy required the American pilic to adopt a new positive image of foreign affairs. This foreign policy became to be known as Nixon Doctrine and this called for indirect assistance American allies in the cold war.

Richard Milhous Nixon was born in 9th January 1913 and became the 37th President of the United States from 1969 up to 1974 and he made a record by being the only president to resign from his office. He died in the 22 April 1994.

He intended to make his mark in the area of foreign policies.

Even though his base of support lied in the Republican party of the conservative wing he had also successfully carved out a career out of Communism being a military opponent.
