Here is your answer,
===============================================
Prostaglandins are chemicals that form in the lining of the uterus during menstruation.
They cause muscle contractions and cramps that are similar to labor pains.
They can also contribute to nausea and diarrhea.
The contractions inhibit the blood flow to the lining of the uterus, or endometrium.

Hey Dear,
◆ Women have stomach problems during periods because -
- Prostagalndins are the group of compounds with varying hormone-like effects, notably the promotion of uterine contractions.
- Prostaglandins are secreted in excess amounts during the menstrual cycle.
- These causes alternate contractions & relaxation of uterine wall which you feel as cramps.
- This stomach-pain starts 1/2 day before starting of periods & may continue throughout the periods.
- If abdominal pain is severe, aspirin/acetaminophen/naproxen can be taken as analgesic.
Hope this helped you.
