total lunar eclipse the moon is completely covered by the Earth's shadow. How?​

During solar eclipse, moon comes in between earth and sun. since moon is smaller than that of earth, it covers a specific area only. But during Lunar eclipse, earth comes between sun and moon and since earth is larger than that of moon, it covers the full area of moon
