Given : During the first six years of its operation, the Hubble Space Telescope circled Earth 37000 times for a total of 1480000000 km.

To Find :   the number of km in one orbit

Solution:

the number of km in one orbit  =  n

the number of km in one round = n   km

number of km in  37000  round = 37000 n  km

37000 n =  1480000000

=> 37n = 1480000

=> n  = 40000

number of km in one orbit = 40000 km
