During the ‘Industrial Revolution’, innovations in technology affected the use of slave labour in the United States.

Innovations in agricultural technology lead to mechanisation of farms, which resulted in involving lesser man power, as a result, requirement of slaves. Innovations in agricultural technology also lead to an increase in the production of crops in the States.

Thus, Industrial Revolution lead to an increase in the production of market goods and also lowered down the number of employees or slaves required to work in the farms.
