During the kite flying event, Mohan sees a kite string cut in the sky and vows to catch it. So, he stands just below the position of the kite. But kite falls much farther away from him and taken by his friend. He wonders to find why it falls so far instead of falling down straight like a coin.
(i) On what factors does acceleration due to gravity depend?

(ii) Why does a coin fall down faster than a kite?

(iii) If the kite and coin were dropped in a vacuum chamber, which would fall faster and why?

(iv) A 60kg man weighs ‘W’ kg on the moon. ‘W’ is
(a) 60kg
(b) 10kg
(c) 5kg
(d) 70kg

(v) Acceleration due to gravity varies with
(a) height
(b) depth
(c) shape of the planet
(d) All of these.
