Amar Singh 1 who was the successor of Maharana Pratap Singh, after suffering countless casualties in the hand of the Mughals by their repeated attacks by the Mughals decided to enter into a peace treaty with the Mughals.
The terms of peace treaty were :-
1) No matrimonial relationship was to be conducted between Mewar and Mughals.
2) Mewar was to contribute 1500 horsemen to the Mughal army.
3) All areas under Mewar were to be returned but the Chittor fort was not to be repaired.
