Your Answer :-

Let the total marks be x .

First Division percent = 60% .

According to Question ,

First division marks = 538 + 2 = 540 .

then ,

60 % of x = 540 .

60 * x / 100 = 540

60x = 54000

x = 54000/60

x = 900.

Total marks = 900.

Let the total marks be " x "

according to question ,

60% of x = 538 + 2

60 / 100 x= 540

6x = 5400

x = 900

hence the total marks in examination were 900 marks.
