1. The two main cropping seasons are Rabi and Kharif:

(i) Rabi crops are sown in winter from October to December and harvested in summer from April to June.

(ii) Kharif crops are sown with the onset of monsoon in different parts of the country and harvested in September-October.

2. A plough or plow is a farm tool for loosening or turning the soil before sowing seed or planting. ... The prime purpose of ploughing is to turn over the uppermost soil, bringing fresh nutrients to the surface while burying weeds and crop remains to decay. Trenches cut by the plough are called furrows.

3. Manure is organic matter used as fertilizer in agriculture. Manures improve the fertility of the soil by adding organic matter and lots of nutrients, such as nitrogen that is trapped by bacteria in the soil. Higher organisms then feed on the fungi and bacteria in a chain of life.
