water seeped out and was collected in a beaker. After a while, she measured the amount of water in the beaker
and found it to be 450 mL. Find the percentage of water absorption of the soil if it weighed 1.5 kg in the

Answer:

57.9 %

Explanation:

Priya poured a litre of water into a pot = 1000 ml

amount of water leaked = 450 ml

Amount of water absorbed = 1000 - 450 = 550 ml  = 550 cm³

Density of Water = 1000 kg/m³   = 1 g/cm³

Weight of Absorbed Water =   550 * 1 = 550 gm

Total Weight in pot = 1.5 kg

Water Weight = 550 g

Weight of Soil = 1500 - 550 = 950 gm

percentage of water absorption of the soil = (550/950) * 100 = 57.9 %
