• The protection of women from domestic violence act 2005 extends the understanding of the term ‘ domestic’ to include all women who live or had lived together in a shared household with the male who is perpetrating the violence.

• In 1905, Viceroy Curzon partitioned Bengal. At that time Bengal was the biggest province of British India and included Bihar and parts of Odisha  

• The British argued to divide the Bengal for reason of administration convenience .  

• The Simon Commission was a group of 7 members who came from Britain . They came in  India in 1928 to study constitutional reforms and make recommendations to the government.
