E°cell is 0.46 v at 300k and .50 v at 340k then  entropy change is 96.5J K-1

Relation between entropy change (ΔS) and Gibbs Free energy (ΔG) is given by Gibbs Helmholtz equation as:

[δ(ΔG)/δT] = -ΔS

Also, we know that ΔG = -nFE°cell,

where F is Faradays constant = 96500 C mol-1

and n is the number of electrons exchanged in the reaction.

∴ ΔS = nF[δE°cell/δT]                                                       ...(1)

Considering n=1 and

F = 96500 C mol-1 and

δT = difference in temperatures = (340-300)K = 40K

δE°cell = difference in values of E°cell = (0.50-0.46)V = 0.04V

So, putting these values in (1)

ΔS = 1*96500*[0.04/40]

     = 96.5 J K-1.

The entropy change in this reaction is 96.5 J K-1.
