A is better

9 wickets for 35 runs

average of getting wicket =35/9=3.89

but B

12 wickets for 56 runs

his average is 56/12=14/3=4.67

Given :

Number of wickets each A and B takes = 8

Number of runs each take = 28

Number of runs in next wicket by A = 35

Number of runs in next 4 wicket by B = 56

To find : who get better wicket?

Solution :

Average of getting wicket for A would be:

\dfrac{8\times 28+1\times 35}{9}=\dfrac{224+35}{9}=\dfrac{259}{9}=28.78

Average of getting wicket for B would be

\dfrac{28\times 8+56\times 4}{12}\\\\=\dfrac{224+224}{12}\\\\=\dfrac{448}{12}\\\\=37.33

Hence, B was better in getting wicket average.
