Each of the 2 equal sides of an isosceles triangle is twice as large as the third side. If the perimeter of the triangle is 30cm, find the length of each side of the triangle

let third side be x

equal sides 2x

perimeter=x+2x+2x

30=5x

x=6

third side = 6cm

equal side= 6*2=12cm

Let the third side be x cm. Other two sides=twice of third side=2x cm and 2x cm. Perimeter=30cm. Formula of permiter:sum of three sides. Therefore,X+2x+2x=30cm X+4x=30cm 5x=30cm X=30/5 X=6. Ist side of triangle=6 Second side of triangle=2x=6*2=12 Third side of triangle=2x=6*2=12.
