- Addition of catalyst will not have any effect on K.

- This is because catalyst only helps to attain the equilibrium faster from either  end of reaction.

- The given reaction is a disproportion reaction.

Cl₂ + 2 OH⁻ → ClO⁻  + Cl⁻ + H₂O

- The oxidation state of chlorine in Cl₂ is 0

- In ClO⁻ it has oxidation state of +1 and in Cl⁻ it has oxidation state of -1.

- Since Chlorine gets oxidised as well as reduced, it is a disproportionation reaction.
