Each side of a square garden is 1 m 50 cm long. It is extended by planting more flowers in a strip of 20 cm width all around it. Find the area of the enlarged garden and also the increase in the area of the garden.

present side=150 cm.
by adding÷
side = 170 cm

old area =150×150. cms
new area= 170×170. cms

area increased = new area - old area.
= 28900 cm^2 - 22500cm^2
thus...area inc..=6400cm^2
