each side of an equilateral ∆ is 2x cm
and x√3 = 48
so, x = 16√3.√3/√3 = 16√3 cm

now,
each side of equilateral ∆ = 2x
= 2 × 16√3 = 32√3 cm

area of equilateral ∆ = √3/4 × (side length) ²
= √3/4 × (32√3)²
= √3/4 × 32 × 32 × 3
= 32 × 8 × 3√3
= 768√3 cm²
