Each term of an AP is tripled. Is the resulting sequence also in AP? If so find its 1st term and common difference ?

Answer:

Let the AP be a, a+d,a+2d,a+3d....

tripling them:

= 3a,3a+3d,3a+6d,3a+9d....

now common difference = 3a+3d-3a=3d.

hence the first will also be tripled i.e. 3a and common difference will also be tripled to 3d.
