Earthworms are said to be always the friend of farmers. The reason is that earthworm increases the fertility of soil by increasing the amount of air and water that gets into the soil, facilitating aeration and increasing drainage. They bring down organic matter from the top ground levels and mix it with the soil below, increasing nutrient availability. Farmers always wanted to get their crops to grow in a fertile soil. This is done by earthworm without any wages. They are really helping farmers. They cause fragmentation of the dead organic matter.
