mahatma gandhi is the father of our nation and the grandfather of south africa he was born to karamchand gandhi and putlibai gandhi on 2 october 1869. he learnt in a english school. when gandhiji was young his professor asked him to copy he said that he would not. and for freedom struggle he was leading from the front. he died as he was shot in his heart by nathuram godse  on 30 jan 1948
