Self Reliance: A Step To Liberty

Lisa Murkowski has rightly and wisely said, “Freedom comes from strength and self-reliance.” Undoubtedly self-reliance is the greatest achievement one can aspire for. There are only two types of people in this world─one type consists of those who are self-reliant, the other type comprises those who are dependent on others.

All great men and women in all ages and all climes have been self-reliant. They believed in themselves and the omnipotent Power that created them. They did not depend on anything else for their growth and development.  If Lincoln wanted, he could have taken external help of his wealthy friends and relatives; but no; he preferred to take help of his own inner resources. And look! What a free man he became! Not only he attained liberty in his education, finances, career, he also freed the entire coloured people by abolishing slavery. It was his self-reliance that gave him this power!

Similarly, Helen Keller, Einstein, Charlie Chaplin, Booker T Washington, all attained phenomenal liberty in all spheres of their lives by self-reliance.

So if you are aiming at becoming financially, intellectually, emotionally, politically, economically, and spiritually free, you must learn to be self reliant. Expecting others to do your job, work, struggle, and responsibilities will help you in no manner!
