Eastern coastal plains are more fertile, because rivers like Mahanadi, Godavri, Krishna and Kaveri have built deltas along the coast, having fertile alluvial soil. Eastern coastal plains also much broader than western coastal plains. They are more suitable for growing crops.

Answer:

It is wider than the wester plans because. The Eastern Coastal Plains extends between the Eastern Ghats and the sea coast from Subarnarekha River to Kanyakumari. It is wider than Western Coastal Plain because the rivers like Godavari, the Krishna and the Kaveri formed the delta over there.
