Let the total marks be x
prakash case
To pass, he should get,
(30%of x) +6
Sudhir case,
To pass, he should get,
(40% of x) -6
∴(30%of x) +6=(40% of x) -6
⇒0.3x +6 = 0.4x -6
⇒0.1x = 12
⇒x = 120 marks
Full marks = 120 marks
Pass marks will be (30%of x) +6
=(30%of 120) +6
=36+6
=42 marks
prakash case
To pass, he should get,
(30%of x) +6
Sudhir case,
To pass, he should get,
(40% of x) -6
∴(30%of x) +6=(40% of x) -6
⇒0.3x +6 = 0.4x -6
⇒0.1x = 12
⇒x = 120 marks
Full marks = 120 marks
Pass marks will be (30%of x) +6
=(30%of 120) +6
=36+6
=42 marks
