hey dear!!
bryophytes include liverworts and mosses
ecological importance of bryophytes
1) mosses along with lichens are first organisms to colonise rocks they initiate soil formation in any barren terrain of land.
2) They can maintain the soil moisture and also help in the recycling of the nutrients in forest vegetation.
3) since mosses form dense mat on soil, they prevent soil erosion.
economic importance
1) mosses provide food for herbaceous mammal, birds, etc
2) sphagnum (moss) provides peat that can be used as fuel as well as in trans shipment of living material becoz of their water holding capacity.
hope this helps
good luck
