Ms Sullivan had opened the gates of knowledge for
Helen, and now there was no turning back. Helen
now wanted to know the names of different things
around her and her desire and thirst for knowledge
became unquenchable She slowly avercame her
fits of depression. She was tutored tirelessly by
Ms Sullivan for many years. Helen Keller learned
to read Braille, a system of raised dots representing
letters which enable a visually impaired person to read
by feeling the dots Ms Sullivan even accompanied
Helen to college and helped her by tapping out the
words of the teachers into her hand,
You would have noticed that many people who are not
blessed with the gift of sight are endowed with a rare
talent and intelligence. Helen was also exceptionally
brilliant and had an amazing memory. She kept
learning more and more and developed new skills to cope with her blindness
In spite of her blindness, Helen travelled far and wide, speaking to many people, particularly
the visually impaired, sharing her experiences and bringing new hope to many by citing
her own example. People were astounded at her confidence, determination and efforts to
overcome her deficiencies. Her powerful words made a great impact on their minds. She even
wrote her autobiography The Story of My Life, which was an eye opener for many.
An obstacle or hindrance is for many people a true obstruction in the way of their progress,
and they spend their lives cursing their state and spreading misery around them. Helen
Keller, on the other hand, not only overcame the obstacle but also used it to help others who
were in a similar situation. She has truly shown us how one can empower oneself if one has
determination, resolution and will.

Answer:

Sullivan, age 20, arrived at Ivy Green, the Keller family estate, in 1887 and began working to socialize her wild, stubborn student and teach her by spelling out words in Keller's hand. Initially, the finger spelling meant nothing to Keller.

Explanation:

Anne Sullivan pumped water from a well onto Helen's hands as she spelling out the word using a manual alphabet. “Helen learned the alphabet by having letters spelled out on her hand, she connected the words with objects, and she learned rapidly.
