Karakorum is a different range and Himalayan range is different. Ladakh and Zanskar ranges are different too. East Karakorum peaks are seen from high passes of Ladakh and few of them lie in India which are climbed - e.g. Saser Kangri, Mamostang Kangri, etc which is a part of Karakorum range. The famous battle field of Siachen glacier lies on the Karakorum. Rimo peaks, Saltoro Kangri, etc lies on the borders with POK. K2, the second highest peak after Everest is in Karakorum range and not Himalayas. There are other peaks like Gasherbrums, Broad peaks which go above 8000 meters and are a part of Karakorum range. Nanga Parbat, another 8000 meter peak however lies on the Himalayan range and is the last peak on the Himalayan range on the west.
