Human attitudes have changed significantly over the last few decades. Several years ago people used to possess what was called a Character Ethic.
People used to value virtues like humility, courage, honesty and hard work. Business men often made business deals over a handshake. People rarely broke their promises.It was often said that the word of a man was his bond. People used to mindful of others.
Nowadays however the reverse is true. People no longer keep any of their promises and commitments. They often praise the Personality Ethic and regard it as ideal.
The Personality Ethic is characterized by deceit, slothfulness, ego, jealousy ,selfishness and envy. People are driven to accumulate more money, fame and power at the expense of others.
