India's maximum population suffer from illiteracy. If the maximum no of population will be literate. Then the literate people will employed in employment sectors and will be considered assets rather than liabilities.

Illiteracy is one of the major problems of India being an over-populated country. Poverty and poor economy has led to these problems and hence India is always considered as a developing country and not a developed country.
Illiteracy can be prevented only by education . The education system in India since the early period were not advanced and up to date. Women were not educated and their position in the society was low. They did not enjoy equal rights as men. And truly said by Sir Albert Einstein " Education is something which will remain with you after you forget your school lessons " . Education is the basic civic sense that a person has to have in order to achieve the excellence of being a good citizen for serving his Nation.
Illiteracy makes people socially, mentally , physically , psychologically , economically backwards . These words have a strong feedback on the impression of growing illiteracy. Contrasting and comparing the rate of illiteracy in India , we can easily identify the disadvantages of the problem .Illiteracy makes people unaware of the Rights they deserve , the basic freedom they should enjoy. It makes people back dated and they are not aware of what is happening around the World.
People become mean - minded , quarrel with one another and basic humanity is itself lost. Illiteracy brings darkness and sorrow . What is darkness ? Darkness is nothing but the part of human evolution where the basic humanity or light is lost. Illiteracy makes people physically and economically backward hampering the quality of life , the quality of environment and the development of the nation .
Illiteracy can be removed by promoting education throughout all sections of the society.Promoting human development and eradicating illiteracy can remove illiteracy.We should increase the economy and GDP so that poor people can get education .Philanthropists and rich people should contribute some money for education of children so that illiteracy is removed.We should spread awareness and the Government should act firmly to remove illiteracy.
