Salinity is one of the most important problems in subtropical and tropical regions in the world, and it is a main factor limiting growth of plants, especially in sensitive species to salinity. Therefore finding the plants that are resistance to salinity can be considered as a proper way increasing productivity from saline water. Regarding the existence of salinity in Khuzestan, a project was done to study the effects of various salts with different salinity levels on the germination and the growth of cowpea seedling (parasto cultivar) in order to discover possible ways to increase its germination in salty soil.
