many plants are intolerant to having roots submerged in water for long period flooding beside a plant decreases oxygen content in the soil.as a result methane,hydrogen,carbon dioxide and nitrogen increase sharply thus roots suffocate and die.

when rain gets mixed with sulphur dioxide and carbon dioxide rain gets acidic and when the plants get this acid rain which is very harmful and dangerous they die
