7 girls on 12 boys
1 girls on 12/7 boys
147 girls on 12*147/7 = 252 boys
252 - 147 = 105 more boys than girls

If there were 7 girls on every 12 boys, then there would be 1 girl on every 12÷7 boys, so there will be 147girls on every 12×147÷7 boys = 252 boys. So, acc. to this we get, 252-147 more boys, so there were 105 more boys in the hall.
