⏩You're dead. First, lightning injures more people than it kills. In fact, approximately 90 percent of those lightning hits survive, but often with long-lasting neurological damage, says Dr. Mary Ann Cooper, a leading expert onlightning injuries.

▲Effects of lightning.
⏩Lightning strikes help dissolve this unusable nitrogen in water, which then creates a natural fertilizer that plants can absorb through their roots. Lightning also produces ozone, a vital gas in our atmosphere that helps shield the planet from rays of harmful ultraviolet sunlight.

Harmful Effects of Lightning :-

The effect of lightning on the objects is very dangerous and serious.

1. It can kill man and animals.

2. It can cause fire.

3. It can shatter buildings, burn trees and cause forest fires.

Useful Effects of Lightning :-

Lightning has some useful effects as well.

1. During lightning there is production of intense heat and high temperature. Due to both these factors nitrogen is able to combine with oxygen and form its oxides. These oxides of Nitrogen father get dissolved in water to form a very dilute solution of nitric acid that comes to the ground with rain. This is how nature produces nitrogenous compounds for plants. These compounds are essential for the growth of plants.

2. It is during lightning that part of oxygen gets converted into ozone. Ozone is a protective layer. It protects us from harmful ultraviolet rays of sun. This Ozone Layer does not allow these radiations to reach the earth surface.
