calculate the first cycle :

Given,

S.P. = ₹1040

profit % = 36%

Put in formula.....

$c.p = \frac{100}{100 + gain\%} \times s.p.$

C.P.
$= \frac{100}{100 + 36\%} \times 1040 \\ = \frac{100}{136} \times 1040$
$= \frac{104000}{136}$
= ₹764.705882

Calculate the second cycle

Given,

Loss% = 15%

S.P.= ₹1040

put in formula....
$c.p = \frac{100}{100 - loss\%} \times s.p \\ = \frac{100}{100 - 15} \times 1040 \\ = \frac{104000}{85}$
= ₹1223.52941
