Answer:
When alien species are introduced unintentionally or deliberately for whatever purpose, some of them turn invasive and cause decline or extinction of indigenous species. Example: The Nile Perch introduced into Lake Victoria in East Africa led eventually to extinction of an ecologically unique assemblage of more than 200 species of Cichlid fish in the lake. Similarly, Carrot grass, Lantana and water hyacinth that are alien species have become invasive weeds. Recently, African catfish, Clarias gariepinus for aquaculture purpose is posing a threat to indigenous catfishes in our rivers.

Alien Species
Explanation:
- When alien species are presented inadvertently or deliberately in a natural surroundings, some of them can cause decrease or termination of indigenous species, e.g. extensive enviromental harm caused and danger presented to our native species by obtrusive weed species like carrot grass (Parthenium), Lantana and water hyacinth (Eichhornia)
- Another case of exotic species invasion is Nile roost, a huge predator fish
