Society norms, preference of boys over girls, and lack of freedom are one of the major causes of inequalities and resistance for the schooling of girls in India.

Explanation:

• Since the elders of any family in Indian society believe that a woman should be kept at home and her sole duty should be to take care of the house hence little girls are confined to their houses and are not allowed to go to school.  

• Even if a girl is allowed, boys are still given more preference and are given more financial opportunities to gain access every kind of education.  

• Another major reason is the lack of freedom of expression for girls, they are not allowed to voice their opinions and their desires hence whenever they wish a chance of equality and education they are stripped of it.
