maximum stress in the wire

Y =2.0 x10¹¹ N/m²
Let the Length of the wire:-
L =0.50 m
maximum elongation = l m
Strain ε= l/L
=l/0.50
=2l
Formulae :- σ/ε =Y
▶ε =σ/Y
▶2l = 8 x10⁸/2.0 x10¹¹
▶l =2/1000 m
= 2 mm
