Elections in China are held regularly after five years but the election is not free and fair. China is a non - democratic country because : -
● Chinese Parliament the National People's Congress has the power to appoint the President of the country.
● Chinese Parliament has 3,000 elected members from all over China and some members are elected by army.
● Before contesting election a candidate needs approval of Chinese Communist Party.
● The government is always formed by the Communist Party.
● Only who are members of the Communist Party or eight smaller parties allied to it are allowed to contest election.

when a party or candidate wants to take part in election it has to take permissinon from the chinese communist party or the eight member groupps allied to it . whoever is under these communist party or other eight member groups are to be elected so the people have no chance of choosing their representatives or rulers!
