Recently, the elections of 17th Lok Sabha in India were concluded. In the 7 phases, from April 11 to May 19, the people of India voted for 542 seats out of 543 seats in Lok Sabha.
The results of the Lok Sabha were announced on May 23. Under the leadership of the BJP, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won the historic victory by winning 353 seats. The BJP alone won 303 seats. 50 seats allies won. The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) won just 91 seats under the leadership of Congress. Congress won 52 seats and 39 seats won by allies. Other than the NDA and the UPA, the other parties won 98 seats. Thus, BJP-led NDA got absolute majority. Delhi:
Indians are beaming with joy as the election results have been disclosed and the Prime Minister's responsibilities are once again handed to Narendra Modi.
Despite the claims of tampering with the EVMs the opposition party could not prove any allegations against BJP, and thus, BJP is back in full force. However, their win is not a surprise to the Indians as exit polls have been predicting these results right from the day after the elections. The extent is admittedly shocking; the ruling party has swept Congress off the scene, no option, in front of their leader., Rahul Gandhi but to resign.
