EXPLANATION:
In India, general elections are usually held to select the Lok Sabha/Lower House members of after the termination of the Parliamentary elections. The Lok Sabha members/the people’s house/the lower house of India's Parliament are selected through a system of ballot/voting, by the common people who are of 18 years and above and India citizens, from a suite of contenders/candidates who stand in their particular constituencies. Each adult Indian citizen are permitted to vote only within their constituency.
Contenders/candidates who win the general elections are referred to as 'Member of Parliament (MP)' and hold/own their seats for 5 years or till the President dissolves the body on the council of ministers’ advice. The 1st Indian general election since India got independence in the year August 1947 was held during 1951–52, from October 25, 1951 to February 21, 1952. It was undertaken under the stipulations of the Constitution of India, which was implemented on November 26, 1949
