Electric power is inversely proportional to resistance.

To properly understand this answer, we have to know more about the mathematical expression of the electrical power.

We know that,

  • P = I²R
  • V = IR

Where,

  • P = Electric power
  • I = Current
  • V = Voltage
  • R = Resistance

Now, by using the above mentioned two mathematical relationships, we can say that :

P = (V/R)² × R

P = V²/R

From, the above mentioned mathematical equation, it is clear that P is inversely proportional to R. (i.e. electric power is inversely proportional to resistance)

Hence, electric power is inversely proportional to resistance.
