Resistance = ρl/A, where l is the length and A is the Area

                   

If the Length is doubled and the Area is constant and we know that Resistivity is the same.

so

R₁ =  ρl₁/A  

R₂ =  ρl₂/A

Then R₂ = 4 R₁
