In his poem ‘On Killing a Tree’, Gieve Patel gives a graphic description of the total destruction of a tree. A tree is harmless. It gives us oxygen, shades and fruits. Ironically man glorifies his cruelty on trees upon which his survival depends. This poem highlights man mindlessly destroying nature.
